Pumpkin Dive
Aquamariners, a local SCUBA diving club, held its first Pumpkin Dive today. Weather was cool and windy but the pavilion at the Lake Cable Clubhouse provided some shelter. Your friendly blogger contributed firewood for much needed warmth. Registration began at 1, the dive at 2, and the picnic at 3.

this sounds interesting? did they dive for pumpkins?
Yes, Barbie, the dive was for 3" pumpkins which were kept submerged with weights. Prizes are awarded for finding them--none too easy with 2' vis. We usually open the season with an Egg Dive but it was not held this year. I didn't participate this time; the water in the bird bath was frozen that morning. After having been to Jamaica it's hard to get interested in Ohio water!
*snort* i can imagine. i would much rather dive in jamaica.
And in San Salvador I dove a 100' wall!
i went wreck diving in cozumel once.
sadly, i don't think i will
be doing any diving in Cabo next month. my roommate doesn't dive and i don't feel right ditching her for half a day. :(
It's only half a day-dive!
yeah, but if you add in the time it takes to get to the dive shop and the time it takes to get back to the hotel afterward it will be almost 8 hours and then she will want to go BACK into town for dinner which means another bus ride into town... UGH! i am exhausted just thinking about it. easier to lay on a lounge next to the pool with the big pirate ship in the middle and suck down a margarita or four. :)
Barbie, why not leave your friend at home--we'll go vacationing instead!
hmmm... well, except for the fact that roomie is paying for my airfare that sounds good, David. :)
